Dear Families, 

I would like to welcome all of you to the prekindergarten program. On September 2nd, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, you and your family are invited to drop by and meet the teachers and view your child's classroom. Please take ten to fifteen minutes to visit with your child's teachers and get to know them.  

The first day of pre-k is September 7th. 

When school begins, the pre-k classroom opens at 8:30 am and12:00 pm. Please do not enter the room before, as teachers need the time before pre-k starts for preparation.

Please sign your child into his/her classroom. Remember: The half day morning session Pre-k ends at 11:30 and Afternoon and full day pre-k ends at 3:00 pm. You may pick up your child at 2:45 if you have other children to pick up at Alameda school. As you arrive at the door one of the teachers will have the sign out sheet ready for you and will call your child to join you. When too many parents come inside the room at the same time it is difficult for us to ensure each child leaves with the right person.

Email is a good way to communicate with the program. If you think it's important for the teachers to know, for example, your child had a hard morning at drop off, please feel free to inform them, but we appreciate if chat and discussions at drop off and pick up are kept to a minimum. It is important for teachers to be focused on the children during these transition times. If there's any issue the teachers would like to bring to your attention, they may ask you to wait for a few minutes or to check your email later in the day.

We are in room 23A. You may enter the school through the entrance on Freemont street facing 40th Avenue.  The room is on your left in the hallway. You may park your car in the school's parking area on Freemont street and walk with your child to the class.
